I wrote this song 2017 after struggling to come up with ideas for new songs. I decided to only focus on movements that felt fun to play. This slightly manic session of joyful slides, palm mutes, scrapes, bends and other guitar-specific movements gave birth to rhythms in the always rocking key of F#.

From there I wrote the opening riffs and the rhythm section during the solo. The song lay dormant for a while until Youtube recommended me this video and I went “Hard Yakka, of course!”.

Inspired by the idea of making this song a sort of trial I finished a draft and sent it to Nick and Raúl. Nick wrote the drum parts himself and Raúl improved the bass parts that I sent him. The end result is fantastic and I’m forever grateful for their contributions and performances.
